What is PoolParty?

PoolParty provides an easy to use GUI divided in three areas, the toolbar, the hierarchy tree and the details view. Menu bars, context menus, and a search bar makes a thesaurus manager feel comfortable with PoolParty. Thesauri can be navigated easily via the hierarchy tree. The thesaurus manager won´t get lost even in very large knowledge networks. Each thesaurus concept can be edited in a comfortable way. PoolParty has differents themes - choose your favourite! PoolParty´s user interface is fully browser based but offers comfortable ways to navigate and edit thesauri like autocomplete and drag & drop. Thesauri can be browsed with an interactive flash based visualization tool. Each concept can obtain geographical data via the linked data interface. This can be used for map visualisation. Tag recommendations and new thesaurus terms are gleansed from documents automatically but also additional terms can be added. PoolParty provides semantic search features and sophisticated algorithms to implement the search for similar documents (recommender system). Local SKOS concepts can be linked with resources from the LOD cloud like DBpedia, Freebase, GeoNames etc. Concepts of a Poolparty thesaurus can be published as linked data following the linked data principles defined by W3C. Each thesaurus project can be published and can be edited via wiki frontend in a collaborative way. PoolParty offers different types of reports that display information for a project e.g. full details report, thesaurus hierarchy report, Google custom synonyms. PoolParty SKOS thesauri can be browsed with your iPhone! PoolParty offers a full fledged SPARQL endpoint to query your thesauri and web services for you to access them via REST.
