PoolParty is a thesaurus management system and a SKOS editor for the Semantic Web including text analysis functionalities and Linked Data capabilities. The system helps to build and maintain multilingual thesauri providing a simple user interface and a couple of semantic services. PoolParty makes use of RDF/SKOS specification (Simple Knowledge Organisation System) developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

PoolParty is a product developed by punkt. netServices GmbH, Vienna/Austria.

On top of the PoolParty service-interface a variety of semantic web applications can be realized, for example:

• corporate thesaurus
• controlled vocabularies
• tag recommender systems
• semantic search engines
• semantic wikis
• social tagging
• auto-complete and facetted browsing

PoolParty uses best of breed software from the semantic web world. Based on widely accepted specifications like RDF, SPARQL and SKOS the system is highly scalable. The system´s user interface was designed for users without special skills from computer sciences. Server components run on any Java Servlet Container.
